Do you speak my language?

Water Cooler Talk is how we speak at a social function. “You are cordially invited”: said the invitation.

It was exciting, rewarding and comforting; whenever, my family and I went to a party.

We all dressed up in our best formal clothes and shoes.

We were well groomed, sparkling, clean, fresh and full of energy.

All dolled up and ready to go!

We were stimulated and happy to attend.

However, we were also looking forward towards socializing.

With friends and family - joking around; and, complementing each other.

While, reminding ourselves about the - good old days - when we were younger and not so smart or wise.

Music to my ears

Overall, they were great experiences; which - we had - in the past.

I enjoyed the music in the background. When I was in my childhood most of the parties that I attended were located at my aunties’ or uncles’ houses or at my godparents’.

Mainly Greek Folk songs or modern music was played from Greece.

Rock me, and Roll, me!

As I got older and mixed in with my peers, it was all rock and roll. Like The Beatles, Elvis Presley, and The Rolling Stones; and, then - later on - Suzie Quatro, Abba, Kiss and the famous Australian group: AC/DC.

Do you feel the rhythm of the music?

As a young man when I attended nightclubs or discotheques, as they were known many years ago; I loved the music.

However, I only found out later on that, many of the disco songs of the 1970s and 1980s, were, a cover of soul songs from the 1960s.

Of course, there were original artists like the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, Barry White and Donna Summer.

Which have remained as timeless classics until this very day.

Slow and steady wins the race

One main difference to what I have said in this blog.

Is that - at the parties - from my childhood the music was played low.

Therefore, you could have a conversation with anyone. In addition, the environment was well lit.

Dance Fever!

At discotheques, the lights were out and you had difficulty hearing people speak.

When you are a teenager or young adult, you love to hear lots of loud noise.

Lots of fun and excitement expressed, here. But what if everything does not go to plan.
What do you do when everything goes wrong?

You can dive into some magical, interesting, methodical and tactful solutions. Want to find out how this works? 😉
