Because I was skinny and fit. I excelled in these events.
Absolutely unbelievable
I was fascinated how the judges would dig a metal rod into the ground. Behind me.
Confess before the judge and Jury!
To see how far I could jump. I always loved to leap like a leapfrog.
There is no chance I could do that
I could not compete in Pole Vault or High Jump. Because I was a short little boy.
I am not exactly a Daddy Long Legs!
At present I am only 5” 8’ or 173 cm.
Just your average everyday Guy
I am average height now that I am a man.
Take a pick from the Box of Chocolates
There were lots of events that I could participate in. And I could select which ever one I wanted.
This was my favourite Event!
I loved throwing the Discuss but wasn’t so crash hot at Shot Put.
You must be joking
The Hammer Throwing was out of the question. I was just too small.
Practice makes perfect!
I participated in training often.
Follow the rules
This taught me discipline.
In the right direction
And how to plan my time jobs obligations and commitments.
The past is the present…it’s the future too!
Which is relevant at present now that I am a fully grown man.
Come to your senses
I did not realize it then. But I am aware of it now.
An apple a day keeps the Doctor away!
That playing all kind of sports is important to your health and wellbeing.
Jack and Jill went up the hill
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
You have hit the nail on the head!
Playing sport or taking part in running and jumping.
Don’t worry be happy and keep on smiling
Releases your tension stress anxiety worries and fears.
The question to your answer
And it solves your problems mentally.
Fun in the sun!
And overall, it is a lot of fun.
So is participating in a Three-Legged Race.
